Plain Dutch Filter Weaves can accommodate high flow rates with a relatively low pressure drop.
The weft wires are smaller in diameter than the warp wires and are driven up close together, creating a dense filtration weave.

The two most used reported media ratings are nominal and absolute micron rating. The absolute rating, of cut-off point, of a filter refers to the diameter of the largest spherical glass particle, normally expressed in micrometers (mm), which will pass through the filter under laboratory conditions.
When selecting a specification for your application it is recommend to rely on the Absolute Particle rating as it indicates a particle retention range that varies with the condition (cleanliness) of the filter cloth. As the filter builds a cake layer of contaminants (oversize particles) that enhance the filtration capability. The nominal ratings are achieved when the filter is performing at its optimum capability.
